Aranui 3 Cruises

The Aranui III is a working freighter that also operates as a cruise ship, taking its passengers on a 14-day journey through the most remote island group in French Polynesia. It's the only ship to sail from Papeete, Tahiti to each of the inhabited Marquesas Islands including Ua Pou, Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Fatu Hiva, Tahuata and Ua Huka, as well as Fakarava and Rangiroa of the Tuamotu Atolls. This vessel is by far the best way to explore these hidden paradises.

The cargo carrier departs every three weeks and transports everything from baguettes and beer to cement and sugar to the islands' inhabitants. This makes the Aranui III the perfect blend of an old island trader and a modern-day cruise ship, offering a very friendly atmosphere and an experienced staff and crew.

The Aranui III was custom-built with comfort in mind. The ship features 86 spacious and fully air-conditioned cabins, including ten large suites with balconies. The ship's large family-style dining room serves French and Polynesian cuisine in a casual atmosphere.

Other features and amenities of the Aranui III include:
  • Swimming pool and fitness center
  • Special facilities for fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving
  • Two bar lounges with full ocean views
  • Library
  • Boutique selling a variety of supplies and local souvenirs

You'll be fully immersed in the local Polynesian culture, both on deck and on land. The Marquesas offer the very best in terms of a rich cultural experience, so at each stop you will discover amazing, untamed landscapes and intriguing historical sites. In this same spirit, the Aranui III offers a full program of lectures on Marquesan history, culture and art, featuring an array of guest speakers.
